The "fame" of Cortina
Cortina is perhaps more famous for its jet-set than for its natural beauty. In fact, generation after generation of kings, queens, aristocrats, artists, writers, journalists
and politicians have taken turns in coming here, which continues to be considered a top holiday spot.
Even if today it is easy to witness the migrations of people from one villa to another, the Corso Italia promenade is where Cortina's heart really beats, where luxurious bars and restaurants welcome exclusive guests. Just a glimpse of who is sitting at the tables is a show in itself. The shops that crowd the promenade of the centre are some of the chicest in the world and the shopping here is the pinnacle of luxury. Cashmere, loden, prized fabrics, unfinished wools and rare yarns satisfy the most refined tastes, while art galleries and craftsman's workshops offer exclusive wares to those on the lookout for art and precious objects. |
