Getting to Venice

By car

Follow the A4 motorway that links Turin to Trieste, switch to the A13 from Bologna, and to the A27 from Belluno. Exit at Mestre. From here, take the long bridge that crosses the lagoon to reach the car parks on Tronchetto and those in Piazzale Roma.

By train

The Santa Lucia railway station is in the Cannaregio district (sestiere), in front of Piazzale Roma, to which it is linked by the sparkling new bridge designed by the Spanish architect and engineer Santiago Calatrava. Water buses and water taxis depart from the station square to all areas of the city and to some of the main islands on the lagoon.

By plane

The Marco Polo International Airport of Venice is 15 km from the city, to which it is linked both by land and sea services.

... and getting to the Giudecca

The Giudecca is separated from the historical centre of Venice by its large namesake canal. It can clearly be reached by water taxi, but there is also an efficient water bus service. There are four landing stages: Zitelle, Redentore, Palanca and Sacca Fisola.

Water bus lines that touch the island are 2, 41 and 42. At night, the line N1 substitutes line 2. As a rule of thumb, water buses of the same line arrive at 20 min. intervals.
