With its seven kilometres of coastline and superb climate, the city of Santa Flavia continues to be a preferred holiday location for Palermo natives. Just two kilometres from the residential centre, located on the slopes of Mt. Catalfano overlooking the villages of Porticello and Sant’Elia, are the ruins of Solunto, a city founded by the Phoenicians in the 4th Century B.C.

The hamlet of Porticello, the largest in the Santa Flavia area, is a typical fishing village with vividly painted homes and a port with different coloured stalls loaded with fish and seafood. Thanks to the clean, clear water of the coves and inlets and the easily accessible fish market, the number of high quality restaurants in the area has been on the rise in recent years.

Just a short distance from Porticello, blessed with a splendid geographic location, Sant’Elia has extraordinary look-out spots where visitors can admire the Collo d’Oca Gulf and Cape Zafferano with their unmistakable shape and pristine sea floor.
